Philippe Verheyen Founder/CEO
Philippe was born in Brussels in 1966. In his teenage years, he has been working a lot in the sanitation and roofing industry/sector.
In 1987, he graduates from a professional sanitation school.At the age of 21, he founds his own company in this same sector.
His company rapidly gains popularity. It is seen as a professional and modern company with quality services. And furthermore, offering diversity and precision in its services.
In 1994, Philippe gets awarded by the COMENEF with the entrepreuneurship prize for Brussels and Wallonia. In addition to this, Philippe is also passionate about architecture. He begins to design bathrooms and plans for lofts. In 1996, he decides to sell his first business. He then creates his own Italian brand, designing bathroom furniture. He mainly develops this brand in the ‘Benelux’ region and in the UK. Besides this, he also thinks about international development strategies.
In 2004, he decides to focus mainly on Gessi, an Italian design sanitary fitting manufacturer. In Italy, Gessi is the leading brand in design sanitary fittings as well as in the upscale sanitary market.
Philippe is responsible for the commercial strategy of the brand and manages to highly increase its turnover.
Philippe keeps on sticking to the design concept. Therefore, in Flanders, Philippe is called “den echte”, which literally means: “the real one’As a consequence, he decides to change his name from Philippe Verheyen to Filippo Vero, which becomes the name of his new company. Filippo Vero establishes his offices in his own-designed house where he welcomes his clients, but also his partners such as architects in order to present them his products.Filippo develops a new project based on another of his passions, which is wine. `
Filippo has a big wine bottle collection. After various researches, Filippo doesn’t find any piece of furniture that fits his wants.
Therefore, he thinks about a storage solution and develops design stands for home wine cellars. After various tries, a lot of sketching and modeling, he finally designs his first project, which is an innovating, unique and beautifully designed wine stand. He also develops a similar idea for cigars and books. He recently registered a patent for his invention.
His eldest daughter based her master thesis on the feasibility of this project.
Her work includes market surveys proving that there are development opportunities for this new product launch.
So, Filippo and his wife, decide to market the concept and the product range.
Thanks to this launch, he hopes to develop a successful family business with loads of new ideas to develop for the future.
